CrossFit Hawthorn East is a community-driven gym where people come together to train hard, lift each other up, and chase progress — in and out of the gym.

We believe fitness should be challenging, fun, and something you look forward to. That’s why we’ve created a space where everyone — from first-timers to seasoned athletes — feels supported, seen, and part of something bigger.

Our coaching team brings the energy, knowledge, and care to help you move better, grow stronger, and stay consistent. Whether you’re here to improve your fitness, connect with great people, or just sweat it out after a long day — we’ve got you.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a training methodology that combines constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity.

What does that mean? It means we train in a way that prepares you for real life — movements like squatting, lifting, running, jumping, and pushing — performed in different combinations and timeframes to build strength, endurance, agility, and power.

The magic of CrossFit lies in its simplicity and effectiveness. We don’t specialise in one thing — we train for it all. Each workout is different, designed to challenge your body in new ways while keeping training interesting and fun.

We use a combination of weightlifting, cardio, and bodyweight movements to improve your capacity across ten recognised physical skills: strength, stamina, endurance, speed, power, flexibility, balance, coordination, accuracy, and agility.

The workouts are infinitely scalable, meaning anyone — from beginners to elite athletes — can train together, adjusting load, intensity, and complexity to suit individual needs.

CrossFit isn’t just about getting fit. It’s about becoming capable, resilient, and confident — inside and outside the gym.

Is CrossFit right for me?

CrossFit is for anyone, regardless of age, background, or current fitness level. You don’t need to “get fit first” or know how to lift weights before stepping through the door. We meet you where you’re at, and help you build from there.

Every workout is scalable — which means we adjust movements, loads, and intensity to suit your individual needs and goals. Whether you're brand new to training, getting back into it, or looking to take your fitness to the next level, you’ll be supported every step of the way.

What matters most isn’t where you start — it’s that you’re willing to show up, put in the work, and be part of a community that’s doing the same.

What can I expect in class?

Every class at CFHE is fully coached and thoughtfully structured to help you train safely, effectively, and confidently — no matter where you're starting from.

For the most part, we kick things off with a warm-up to get your body prepped and moving well, followed by skill or strength work where we focus on technique, positioning, and building consistency over time. The session wraps up with a workout (also known as the “WOD” — Workout of the Day), where you’ll put everything together in a way that challenges you at your own pace.

Our coaches are there with you every step of the way — not just to explain the workout, but to offer guidance, support, and personalised scaling options to suit your ability and goals. Whether you're lifting a barbell for the first time or chasing a new PB, you’ll be coached with care, attention, and respect.

Expect clear instruction, good music, friendly faces, and plenty of encouragement — plus a high five or two once you're done. All you need to do is show up. We’ll take care of the rest.
